We’ve been entrusted with caring for the trees at the Wellsboro Green and recently had the privilege of working in a giant old maple. I can’t even imagine what this tree has seen in its 100+ years. Most of the top had died out and it was held together by an ancient cabling system. The tree, however, is surprisingly solid so we took steps to preserve it for the next generation by removing all the dead wood and installing a new cabling system to mitigate risk associated with its large, heavy codominant structure. We used every but of our new 75′ bucket truck to boot! We are thankful to the County of Tioga for hiring us to care for their grand trees.
