WELLSBORO — Despite a year’s absence, the Pennsylvania State Laurel Festival continued with nearly the same momentum as in year’s past.
Julie Henry, executive director of the Wellsboro Chamber of Commerce, which organizes the festival, said volunteers helped put together the traditional event when COVID-19 restrictions were lifted just weeks prior.
“It went very well,” she said at the June 22 chamber meeting. “Again, it would not go at all if it wasn’t for all the boots on the ground that were out there. I don’t think people realize how much effort goes into it from the volunteers and the borough. Thank you to everybody who had a hand in it and attended.”
